Faith. Perhaps the greatest untapped resource we
have to meet the needs of humanity. Without it, we are constrained to our own
limits, yet with it, we are a source of God’s limitless activity. My husband
would always tell me that he had enough faith for the both of us…more
importantly, he showed me what a life of faith looks like.
It’s easy to pick
up the Bible and read about men and women of faith, but actually being a man or
woman of faith isn’t quite so easy. It requires action – something too many of
us shrink back from embracing.
Faith means
believing in something that one cannot see, and living like it’s visible. The
‘living like it’s visible’ is the part that requires action. Being a person of faith means letting go of
what others think (Gal1.10), and being hopeFUL in the face of hopelessness. It
means never giving up on what’s true and right and good. It means believing in others even though
you’ve been let down too many times to count. It means turning over every stone
until you find the one that has the answer…it means determination…it means
never giving up.
